End of Season 24-25
As we reach the half way point of the season, we would like to remind all Clubs of the “Cascade” of teams being relegated from Regional 2 back into Counties 1 and the potential issue of a number of those teams being from the same geographical (CB) area. In extreme cases this could cause a knock-on effect of extra relegations down the same league ladder from Counties 1 and below. Information was contained in the Pre-Season Briefing Document that ALL Clubs would have received in August, and there will be an updated Mid-Season version coming, via the Community Game Update (CGU), soon.
Please see here which shows the current situation after December 21st matches, that Paul Astbury of the London & SE ROC compiles. This gives you a snap shot of where we currently stand , the potential numbers of relegated sides is very much worse case scenario and should be taken into context with standings as they are.
In all 18 winners from Counties 1 will automatically be promoted, the 6 extra (that make up the 24 promotions to replace relegated Regional 2 teams) across the country are decided on Best Playing record (BPR) and 4 of those spots are reserved for 1st XV’s who come runners up to Lower XV’s.
We will be publishing regular updates of this document on so teams get a much earlier look at any cascade that may affect them.
Your League Secretary should be able to help with any queries you may have.
